各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

2022年最後的一個月份，天氣終於轉涼，但有時候下午也會很熱。天氣難測，大家也要保重身體。十二月一日，我代表學校出席了屬會世界龍岡學校劉皇發中學第四十屆陸運會。當天坐在我身邊的是前港隊(劍擊)成員，他是世界龍岡學校劉皇發中學校友，他對母校十分貼心，每年也會在陸運會中參加接力比賽，希望我們的校友也多些回校支持學校的活動。

The weather finally changes to be cooler in December, 2022 but it is sometimes still hot in the afternoon. The weather is hard to predict and we have to take care ourselves. On 1st December, I was invited to be one of the guests in the 40th Sports Day of LKWFS Lau Wong Fat Secondary School. It was my honour to sit next to the Hong Kong former fencing athlete and he is one of the alumni who is so enthusiastic and supportive towards school. He participates the sports day every year if he is in Hong Kong. He also joined the relay. I hope LTY alumni can come and support us a lot.

6A班曾頌文、余日顥、楊征衢同學參加了新會商會中學的「創意STEAM元宇宙比賽」，並勇奪冠軍。在十二月三日的頒獎禮中，我也前來在台上與他們一起接受這份榮譽。希望日後同學們也參加不同的比賽或活動，發掘自己的潛質。

3 students in 6A joined a STEAM competition which was organized by a secondary school in Tuen Mun. They got the champion. In the prize presentation, I was so glad to be on the stage together to take photos with them. I hope our students can join different kinds of competition or activities which can active their potential and talent.

轉眼間，一年級的同學已經在學校順利地度過了100天，我們舉行了「LTY滿月 FUN」，家長在過程中見證着小朋友的成長，更有家長熱淚盈眶，十分感動。今年的小一十分成熟，語言能力又好，希望他們能快快樂樂地成長。

Time flies and students in P.1 had been staying in LTY for over 100 days. Therefore, we had an occasion called ‘LTY 100-day completion FUN’. Parents were invited to see their performance, photos, videos and their artifacts to witness their growth in LTY. Some of them rimmed with tears and they felt touched. Indeed, students in P.1 this year are mature and good at language. I hope they can grow happily ever after.

十二月七日(三)學校為六年級同學安排拍攝畢業照及班照，在拍攝前，我對同學們作出了一番訓勉，鼓勵他們要好好珍惜時間，努力學習，每年看着畢業班穿起畢業袍拍照，都感到點依依不捨。

Students in P.6 were arranged to take graduation photos on 7th December 2022. Before the photo-taking, I gave them a speech to encourage them to treasure time in LTY and to try their best on their studying. All the teachers and I feel upset to see students wearing gowns to take photo as they will leave soon. We started missing them.

六年級的同學已經進入自行分配學位階段，因此，學校安排班主任於8/12(四)個別接見家長，希望透過個別接見，令每位家長知道自己小朋友的學習情況及不同中學的要求，再由老師整體作出一個意見，令家長更容易找到心儀的中學。事實上，過往三年的派往成績有明顯進步，我們要一起努力。

Students in P.6 are in the stage of Discretionary Places. On 8th December 2022, P.6 class teachers met the parents one-by-one to make sure the parents understand the learning progression and the requirements of different secondary schools. Of course, the class teachers gave some ideas for parents to let them select an appropriate secondary school for their children. In fact, students of LTY had an obvious improvement to go to the school they wanted to. Let us work it together again.

十二月十日(六)起一連五個星期，我們舉辦了一個「LTY幼小銜接課程」，讓幼稚園K3同學到校體驗有關STEAM及體藝活動，同學都表現得很開心，希望透過活動能令更多的區內家長認識我們。

‘LTY bridging course for Kindergarten’ has been organized since 10th December 2022 for 5 consecutive weeks. It aims to provide authentic experience for kindergarten students on STEAM, sports and arts activities. Students felt happy in the activities. We hope that the parents in this district know us more through the above arrangement.

由於疫情停辦了三年的聯校陸運會，終於在15/12(四)在屯門鄧肇堅運動場舉行。這天的天氣寒冷，又不時下着微微細雨，但我們仍一致決定如常進行。最後天公造美，雨越下越小，除跳遠項目取消外，所有項目都能順利完成。最令大家興奮的莫過於欣賞比賽項目，各運動員將自己發揮得最好，啦啦隊也在看台大聲吶喊。終於也沒有令大家失望，我們取得最後我們取得男甲、乙、丙，女甲、乙，男團及女團的冠軍，我們失落了多年的全場總冠軍也重新擇下了！多謝體育科的老師出心出力，多謝主任們的協助，每一個人的努力，才有今天的成績，加油！

Owing to the pandemic, the sports day has been suspended for 3 years. The 30th sports day was held on Tuen Mun Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground on 15th December 2022. It was cold with rain on that day. It kept on drizzling but we kept it and made it hold as usual. Fortunately, the drizzling stopped and the competition held as usual except the item of long jump was cancelled. Everyone was so excited as all the athletes tried their best to perform and the cheer squad kept on cheering and shouting. Finally, we got the result as follow:

在12月18日（星期日）晚上，部份老師、主任和我都前往屯門大會堂，欣賞屯門兒童合唱團年度音樂會。因為我們有多位學生是合唱團的成員，因此，我們一起去為他們打氣，LTY的學生真是多才多藝。

Some teachers, senior teachers and I went to Tuen Mun City Hall to watch TMCC Annual Concert. It was because some LTY students are the members of this choir, so we showed our support and encouragement to them. LTY students are multi-talented.

聖誕及新年假期由2022年12月21日至2023年1月2日，這期間，大家可以休息一下，但學校的工作會如常。我很想告訴大家，學校又會大變身。禮堂及圖書館會裝修，你們有什麼期望？希望盡快完成，我們可以在舒適及優美的環境及設施下學習。

Christmas and New Year holiday start from 21st December 2022 to 2nd January 2023. In this period of time, teachers and students can take this opportunity to enjoy their holiday and take a rest. However, the school is still running as normal. I want to tell all of you something important. Our school will have some changes again. School hall and library are going to have renovation. What is your expectation? I hope it will be done soon. Then we will study and learn under a comfortable and beautiful environment and facilities

十二月二十日(二)是聖誕聯歡日，大家穿上主題顏色的衣服，十分有節日氣氛。英文科及活動組分別安排攤位活動及聯歡活動。最後，全校在操場大合唱和集體活動，各人高興地迎接這個聖誕及新年。

It was the Christmas Party on 20th December 2022. Everyone dressed up with the themed colour like red, green, gold and so on which filled with festive atmosphere. Booth games and activities were organized by English and ECA teams. At last, all of us sang songs together and played games together. We were so happy to welcome this festive.

恭喜1A班麥瀚仁同學，他參加了「我們的版圖」2022年國民教育活動小學親子填色比賽，獲得「公眾之like大獎」亞軍。在12月28日，瀚仁與家長的陪同下，我們一起在九龍紅磡社區會堂參加頒獎典禮，場面十分熱鬧。只是頒獎禮部份，也用上兩小時。當天有很多重量級的嘉賓，他們也與同學們及家長分享有關國民教育的資訊，更鼓勵同學多認識國家歷史及發展。希望同學們多參與不同的比賽，展示大家不同的潛能，為校爭光。

Congratulations! Our student in 1A, Daniel Mak, who participated to a drawing competition and he won the first runner up. On 28th December 2022, Daniel accompanied with his parent and me to attend the prize presentation ceremony. It was boisterous with lots of kids and parents. Just the session of prize presentation, it spent about 2 hours! Lots of honourable guests were invited and they shared about lots of information about national education. They encouraged students to learn more about the history and the development of our country! It is hoped that our students can join different kinds of competitions to develop and discover their potentials in various aspects.
